The birth of Holy Gut

My name is Ghaith, a Syrian that’s been living in The Netherlands since 2015.
I have always loved cooking, owning my own restaurant back in Syria, and got to study and master the profession here in Amsterdam.

A couple of years ago I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, causing me to be hyper-aware of the things I could eat. I couldn’t eat just anything, not even in the restaurant I was working at. I also remember the big amount of customers requesting special meals or changes to accommodate specific allergies.
It was hard for the kitchen staff to come up with proper solutions on the fly, and even harder for the customers to find meals that would fit their nutritional needs and taste good at the same time.

This is when I realised what I needed to do, and created Holy Gut!

We’re living in a time with a bunch of different food options, coming from different cultures or traditions, but also a lot of modern and new dishes. Unfortunately, people with food intolerances do not have access to most of these.

We want to solve this issue by having two chefs, both with a different skill set and background, and a nutritionist in Holy Gut’s production team. This way we can study and check each meal, in order to create healthy and safe dishes that go well with your taste, budget, but most importantly, your gut.

Our Vision

We want to make your life easier by providing you with gut-friendly and tasty meals,
that will not only be a safe food option, but will also provide you with proper nutrition.

However, that is not our only mission.
We also want to help educate you on the effect good nutrition can have on your health.
Not only does it alleviate symptoms, it can also help your body flourish.
Through the combination of food and information, we want to turn your gut into a Holy Gut.
